CARE of Southeastern Michigan CEO to step down in July

Care of Southeastern Michigan’s president and CEO Monique Stanton plans to step down in early July.

Stanton, 39, joined the Fraser-based nonprofit in 2008 as deputy director and has served as its top executive since 2012.

During her tenure, Care — a finalist in Crain’s 2017 Best-Managed Nonprofit contest — has expanded its peer recovery coach program and other programs and forged partnerships with local health systems to help meet rising demand for addiction recovery and support services in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties.

Today, it provides services for 40,000 people in the three counties each year.
