CARE and Advocacy
Project Vox
Project Vox is CARE’s recovery advocacy group that works to influence public policy and support substance use disorder prevention and treatment programs. Project VOX is comprised of people who are in recovery, have been impacted by addiction, recovery professionals, and those who are passionate about ending substance use disorder. Our goal is to educate members of society about substance use, including those working in government and other public systems.
At monthly meetings, Project VOX plans recovery focused events for the general public, people in recovery, and recovery allies. These efforts include stigma reduction and messaging training, naloxone education, how to share a recovery story, and a variety of social activities that bring together people in recovery. We also network with other groups at larger community events such as the Unite to Face Addiction Rally and Michigan Celebrate Recovery.
