Advocacy
The fight against substance use, and the opioid epidemic requires treatment, support services, counseling, education, and other services that CARE provides. But it also requires organized action by communities to advocate for change in policies, laws, public perception, and community norms. If you’ve ever wanted to get involved with the fight against substance use and misuse but didn’t know exactly what to do, you may find an answer below.
Project Vox
CARE’s recovery advocacy group that works to influence public policy and support substance use disorder prevention and treatment programs. The group meets each month to plan upcoming events and activities. Click here for more information on Project Vox and how to join.
Community Coalitions
CARE supports 11 local substance use prevention coalitions in Macomb and Wayne counties. These coalitions are comprised of people from all backgrounds, including those impacted by or recovering from addiction. Each coalition focuses on their individual community’s strengths and needs.
