Peer Recovery
Peer Support for Lasting Recovery
Each person’s struggles with substance use and addiction are unique—and so is their path to recovery. Whatever that path may be, rehabilitation is more likely with the right support.
No one has to do this alone. CARE of Southeastern Michigan connects individuals struggling with substance use to a whole community of people in recovery. We make connections. We make progress. And we never give up.
Peer Recovery Services
Through Recovery United Community Center (RUCC), we provide professional and emotional support to those seeking to change their lives.
We believe there are multiple paths to recovery—and are absolutely committed to helping individuals find their path and stay on it. CARE works with people who seek us out on their own, as well as those referred by employers, through hospital emergency departments, by the corrections system, and through local treatment agencies.
Each person served by CARE is matched with a peer recovery coach. These coaches are themselves in long-term recovery and have extensive training in substance use and misuse, relapse, mental health, outreach, and the many resources available to those in need. Coaches provide encouragement and support, bridging the gaps to assure that the person in recovery has the essentials they need.
