Introducing the Michigan RecoveryCon & Film Festival
CARE will host the first of its kind, Michigan RecoveryCon and Film Festival on Saturday, September 27, 2025. The event will include substance use treatment and recovery thought leaders and panels aimed at reducing stigma and promoting community. The event will also host groups and workshops that support the mind and body including yoga, mutual aid, and recovery oriented support groups. Allies and family members affected by a loved one’s substance use will also share their insights at the event. A hallmark of the event will be the showcasing of films and art pieces throughout the day made in support of the recovery community.

Each time I called and asked if I could get to treatment they told me ‘Yes’, without hesitation. … Had they said ‘No’ that last time, I might have ended up dead, or still be out there or in prison, or whatever. That’s pretty awesome, that I get to work with them now and help people the way I was helped.
