SUMMARY:Camp CARE
DESCRIPTION:Does your child worry about a loved one’s struggles with alcohol\, opioids\, or other drugs? Are you an individual in recovery who has children in your life? Would your child benefit from skills to address worries related to  their loved one’s substance use? \nCamp CARE is a two-week camp for children in preschool through 8th grade from July 19th-23rd & July 26th-30th at Fountain Elementary in Roseville from 9am-1pm. Children learn skills to communicate effectively\, manage emotions & self-control\, deal effectively with change\, choose friends wisely\, make healthy choices\, and resist peer pressure. A parent/caregiver group will also be available. \n\nA maximum of 60 students are able to register\nStudents and staff will be required to wear masks\nBoxed lunches will be provided\nStudents will have access to indoors with assigned classrooms for each age group\nMost activities will be held outdoors\n\nCamp Packet/Book Pick-Up for the parent/caregiver group will be at the CARE Main Office at 31900 Utica Road\, Fraser\, 48026. The parent/caregiver component will be available virtually via Zoom from 10am-12pm on the days of camp. Zoom links for parent/caregiver group will be emailed to participants after they register. \nThis is a two-week camp. Participants should attend both weeks. DESCRIPTION:Each year CARE of Southeastern Michigan works with students and families to educate and implement substance use prevention in the lives of the individuals we serve. CARE holds weekly educational workshops and hosts various summer camps for school-aged kids. \nLeadership Camp activities help increase resiliency\, self-esteem\, and team building to empower students to be leaders in their communities. Students can expect a week of fun\, “out of the box” experiences! \n\nCARE will be hosting the camps in from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM\nMost of the activities will be outside where social distancing and masks will be enforced\nWe require students to wear masks to keep them and our staff safe during this time\nMeals will be provided for student\nStudents will have access to indoors with assigned classrooms for each grade level participating\n\nThere will be a maximum 40 students at each camp\, so sign-up quickly!
